Portrait of my sister

the first one is the original drawing I did and the second it with a pattern put in. I think this is a fun way to incorporate fabric into a traditional drawing. I'd love to do more like this as fashion illustrations!

Heres a cartoon that me an my sister whipped up. She found a freelance job that needed stuff done really fast for a small budget, so we figured if we work together, we can get it done quicker, making it worth the time. This took about 15 minutes total! I love having a twin!

Camp-out!

Lizzie and I are planning to have a camp-out this summer, so we made an invitation! People always ask us how we work together on illustrations, so basically, we take turns doing what ever we feel the piece needs and while one of us works, the other one watches. Its very helpful to have someone to work with because sometimes you cant tell if something doesn't look right until you step back. This saves time and basically its nice to have someone else there if you get stuck. Two heads really are better than one in some cases.

Happy Mommy's Day!

In honor of all the people in my life who have been like mother's to me... I have been so lucky to have several people in my life who cared for me in that way:) Some are still with me and others are watching over me, i know, but they are all a big part of my life and I love them!

Comic Strip

I did a few comic strips for this guy while I was still in school. He wrote them (a lot of inside jokes) about his friends and I illustrated them. Just so everyone knows... I DON'T NECESSARILY SHARE THESE VIEWS. lol

I had to find a faster way to do it since he had a very limited budget and quick deadlines. Something about it reminds me of south Park. lol. But he was really happy with it and hopefully his friends weren't too insulted...

Doodles and Sketches

The first ones a self portrait.

The second one is Geraldine and Alice from the Vicar of Dibley, a show on BBC thats so cute and funny i couldn't resist a sketch! I'm going to ad color and finish it. It should be up soon. http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/vicarofdibley/ <-- Check the show out here!

and the third one is a Buddha baby with a spring theme. I'm thinking of doing one for every season. Its looking sorta funny right now so I think I'll work on it a little more.

100% SKI

The topic for illustration Friday this week was 100%. I'm planning on going Skiing in a few weeks with my cousins. I've never gone before, but I'll give it 100% even though I might come back with broken bones. Like how i tied that in?

Well anyway... this was done in Photoshop, but i wanted it to look like a woodcut cause I love that textured, rough look.

GO. SKI. ENJOY.:)
